Strangers, again

Thursday, May 05, 2011 § 10

i stumbled upon this really great video from ixara

i just have to repost it because i sure do could relate..

how when we meet someone special,
we start out as strangers,
and when the relationship doesn't turn out well,
we become strangers to each other again..

Have you ever been in a serious  relationship?

Did all the seven stages mentioned in the video happen to you and your ex when you were still together?

The girl said, "break up or get married, it's gonna be one or the other. What do you think will happen if we don't end up together? Will we hate each other? Keep in touch?"

As for me, yeah, all the 7 stages did happen to me and my ex. And we did hate each other but still kept in touch. Just like the girl in the story, I had a new bf after me and my ex broke up, but on my case it was just a cover-up to show I had really moved on but the truth is I'll never get over him.. Abruptly, I broke up with the new bf.

Though now, were not still THAT comfortable with each other, my ex and I are really like close friends again. The good thing about this is that we realized we never would have to grow apart from each other, never have to pretend, and just be like a flowing river, let the water take us to its course. No commitment but whatever happens in the future I hope we are both happy and satisfied.(:

What's this?

Your first relationship is merely as good as your last as what i always say and believe...
Brief enough to cover the vital parts sissy?haha!

  • you said that cus you don't want him for me, haha but hey i really loved him so its kinda not right to compare my relationship with him to the next one with whom i never really cared about. (;

no worries, sissy, i'm happy with my present.(:
and i have to be brief, i don't wanna bore my readers haha

Thank you for posting this video! It made me see the light. I never figured out why I and my ex-husband's relationship fell apart I realized we did what the couple in the video did- stopped making efforts trying to make the relationship work again because we felt its not worth it anymore. With me and my ex, we both got married and eventually broke up. Once upon a time we were each others' most significant other, now we don't know each other. But I am still thankful I met him. Because when we separated, I met another man, who is certainly the most special person in my life right now!

I agree that the chase is the best part of any relationship.

I can totally relate to the seven stages because I’ve been there. My ex and I started as friends just like many relationship. We fell in love and after 8 years of being together we broke up. I didn’t start dating right away, not because I am hoping for us to get back together, I just didn’t want to. He cheated on me so that’s why I have no desire to be with him again. I think I started entertaining guys who were interested after 5 months but never really liked them for a relationship. Of course my ex tried to win me back but I know it will never be the same. So our relationship went from good friends to lovers and finally back to being strangers.

I found a new love after a couple years. That’s when I appreciate everything that has happened. I understand that it will never work out with my ex because I am meant for someone else. I found the best and I am really happy now.

Thanks for sharing the video. Good thing you end up being friends with your ex. I hope someday you’ll find the person that is really meant for you.

i haven't been in serious relationship but i think i know how it feels. hehe i just know. :) i was always stuck on the chase part and just ended there. i don't know. i think its hard to be verrryy in love. :)

  • @mayen: thanks. hm, yeah my ex tried to win me back. and im not sure if he's trying to win me back again. recently, he had done really sweet things, but urgh i'm not going through the same shit again. its better this way, we may flirt but no more touching lol. though im glad there was no third party. the flame just sort of-- dwindled. we were too comfortable with each other and i dint have this thing called tolerance lol.
yes i agree with you, there's someone we deserve so much more than any of our ex-es. ((: im happy you have found new love again. i'm yet on my way to finding that.

@krn: that's okhey. you're young pa naman just like me hehehe. but hey, just chill, if a guy chases you and you like him, don't be afraid to reciprocate. its a great feeling to be loved, to be in a relationship. you don't have to be so serious-- talking about settling down, tying it up, kids, etc. just chill and go with the flow. relax and see what happens next. btw, thanks karen for the advice. *wink*

  • @krn: haha.. you're being silly is all.. if no nice guy chases you, then bad guys do? that's exciting! trust me, you don't want the nice ones.. they're pretty dumb and boring.. haha
